Dr Dilawar Singh

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dr Dilawar Singh, a well-known solar energy expert and highly regarded authority in the solar PV industry, leads Sun Brilliance.

Dr Singh has over 35 years of experience in the field of sustainable energy industry. He possesses a Ph. D. in Solar Energy (1984) from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. His areas of specialization include solar photovoltaics and solar thermal energies, wind and mini & micro hydro power, energy efficiency & energy audit; greenhouse gas emission, climate change issues and carbon footprints as well as he has a very good understanding and knowledge of other renewable energy sources such as bio; wave; tidal; geo-thermal and hydrogen energies.

Dr Singh is Chairman of Sun Brilliance Group, a well-known Group of Companies in Australia and India for the supply and integration of Solar Power Systems.

Dr Singh was conferred the title Adjunct Professor in 2007 in recognition of his contribution to Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia.

He served as a Board Member of Greening Australia from 2007 – 2009.

For five consecutive terms, he was the President of Australia-India Chamber of Commerce.

Dr Dilawar Singh completed several consultancy projects in renewable energy for UNDP, UNECAP, UNIDO and UNESCO in developing countries.

Dr Singh represented Australia on International Energy Agency Task VIII for Very Large-Scale Photovoltaics (VLS-PV) and delivered plenary and key note addresses in the World Renewable Energy Congresses and the World Solar Congresses as well as participated in international panel discussions. He has more than 70 publications in his credit published in reputable international journals and further, he edited Newsletters, Proceedings of International Conferences, etc.

Dr Singh was awarded the prestigious UNESCO Young Scientist Award (1988) for his outstanding contribution in the field of renewable energy.


Mr. Kalwant Singh Dhillon

Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer

Kalwant Dhillon has had an extensive career of over 35 years in finance, accounting and business spanning from Australia to the South East Asian region and covering various sectors. Kalwant is an experienced and respected Chief Financial Officer (CFO)  and his past experiences includes working at Ernst & Young, Sun Alliance Group, the Australian Investments and Securities Commission (ASIC), Western Australia’s largest Waste Management Authority, and some of the larger US Multi-nationals in the Oil and Gas sector. He has also worked on large “green” projects under Build Own and Operate (BOO) arrangements whilst in the Waste Management sector.

Kalwant holds an MBA degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow CPA member of the Australia Society of CPAs as well as a Fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in UK and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.


Prof. Ray Wills

Executive Director & Chief External Affairs Officer

Ray has more than 30 years of experience in a wide-ranging career at different times as a researcher, academic, planner, consultant, adviser, manager and executive working for government, Parliament, business, industry bodies, NGOs and educational institutions. He has substantial expertise in ecology, sustainability, climate change science and the effects of expected future climates on Australia and the world. He is an authoritative and respected commentator and adviser on sustainability across all sectors including built environment, cleantech, energy infrastructure, industrials, manufacturing, resources, transport, and water. He was conferred the title Adjunct Professor in 2009 in recognition of his contribution to the University of Western Australia.

As well as being a Partner in Sun Brilliance, he is also Managing Director of the advisory firm Future Smart Strategies; Blue Leader of the ‘blue economy’ business Blue Australasia; a Board Member of Western Australia’s remote energy services provider Horizon Power; and Director of the bioenergy startup BioTek Fuels Pty Ltd.

He delivered keynote addresses to various national conferences including in 2013 the World Renewable Energy Congress, in 2014 the Property Council of Australia Sustainability Conference, and Public Health Association of Australia Conference, and in 2015 Future of General Practice National Conference.

He was recognised internationally as one of the Top 100 Global Leaders in Sustainability of 2011 by Singapore-based ABC Carbon, an honour renewed every year since,  From 2014 he was also listed by UK-based SustMeme Magazine in the top 100 of Global Influencers in Social Media on climate change and energy.
